What is Open Practice?
An Open Practice is for students to work on their own practice independently without a teachers guidance. Open Practices are a great way to begin to learn to practise by yourself, or some students come to practice together. Students use the space and props for their own practice.
-
Who can attend?
Open Practices are open to students currently attending classes at MYC with at least 12 months of general class experience.
-
Which class pass?
Members of the MYC Collective have Open Practices included in their membership. Further details about the MYC Collective can be found here.
-
How does it work?
Students need to register for Open Practice sessions in PunchPass.
A Key is required as we cannot guarantee the studio will be open. Please get in touch to register and receive a key.
-
How do I register?
To take part in Open Practices, please email info@marrickvilleyoga.com.au. We can then arrange a time to do a 5 minute induction and provide you with a set of keys to access the studio and provide you with an information pack.
-
What do I practice?
Practice sheets are available on our resources page, and we have hard copies of many sequences at the studio to work with in these sessions. For MYC Collective members, you can also practice the individual program created by Simon and Hasu for you. Students are also welcome to refer to any reference books from our library during their practice. We ask that these books do not leave the studio.
-
What times are Open Practice?
Any time there is not a scheduled class on the timetable. You can see the timetable here
Open Practices are also offered on Public Holidays. During Teacher Mentoring weekends, the Centre will be used for the training during the Open Practice times scheduled on Friday and Saturday afternoons & Sunday morning. so please check the schedule.
-
What are the benefits?

Therapy students can use the props to practice the sequences that are given to them in Yoga Therapy.
