  • Beginning

Our Beginning classes offer a structured, step-by-step approach to learning Yoga in a supportive and dedicated environment.

Perfect for those with no prior experience who want to start Yoga. Whether you're new to Iyengar Yoga or coming back after a break, these classes are a great starting point.

Beginning Classes are not suitable for those with chronic conditions or major injuries. If you need specialised support, we recommend our Yoga Therapy classes. For more details on our Beginning Classes, click here.

  • Developing

Developing classes are ideal for students who have some prior yoga experience, are returning after a break, or are new to Iyengar Yoga. These classes focus on refining and consolidating the foundations.

Designed to bridge the gap between Beginning and General classes. Students gradually build strength and stability to bear weight in inversions, with preparation poses for inversions introduced at this level.

Regular attendance in Developing classes will provide the capability and skills needed to transition into General classes.

  • General

Our General Classes are designed for students with at least one year of yoga experience. At this level, students refine their practice and work with inversions, including Full Arm Balance, Elbow Balance, Headstand & Shoulder Stand.

It is expected that students attending General classes have a basic understanding of the poses being taught.

These classes are not suitable for beginners. If you're new to yoga, we recommend starting with our Beginning or even Developing classes to build a strong foundation.

“I’ve been attending classes at Marrickville for a while now and I find the practise challenging and satisfying.” Holly T

“Yoga is a great physical workout, but I think the real benefits are for the mind. I’ve noticed that I’m calmer and more focused after I’ve done a practice. They say the more supple the body, the more malleable the mind and I think that’s pretty spot on.” Steve O
